Tobias Lütke (CEO) co-founded Shopify in 2006 after recongnizing the value and need for commerce software. As a programmer himself Tobias has served on the core team of the Ruby on Rails framework and has created many popular open source libraries such as the Typo weblog engine, Liquid and Active Merchant. He has served as CEO of Shopify since 2008. Shopify is a leading global commerce company, providing trusted tools to start, grow, market, and manage a retail business of any size. Tobias Lütke

Tobias Lütke is the founder and CEO of Shopify. In 2004, Tobi began building software to launch an online snowboard store called Snowdevil. It quickly became obvious that the software was more valuable than the snowboards, so Tobi and his founding team launched the Shopify platform in 2006. He has served as CEO since 2008 at the company’s headquarters in Ottawa, Canada.
